Although I agree that we should simply follow the rubric for whatever form of Mass is being said, it is important to note that Councils of Bishops, i.e. the CCCB, are permitted to ask for indults to change certain aspects of the rubric, i.e. when to sit, stand and kneel. For example the CCCB has an indult to permit standing during the entire Mass so that elderly people do not have to kneel down, as some cannot do so.
Therefore, we have to be careful not to simply look at the documents from Rome, but to also be aware of what our Council of Bishops says so that we are well informed. To those who say "why can't we just listen to Rome," well by listening to our Bishops we are listening to Rome, because Rome gives the Bishop his authority.
