Video: He Refused to Sign Hitler's Oath

Here is another story from Witnesses of the Faith, a series of short videos about the lives of Catholic saints, martyrs, and witnesses to Christ.

Austria, 1943.

A quiet farmer is brought before a military court. A single document is placed before him. One signature would send him home to his wife and children.

Refusing it would mean prison. It would mean death.

Franz Jägerstätter understood the cost. And he refused.

At first, it seemed like the most shocking part of the story.

But in the final moments of his life, something even more unexpected would take place—something no one in that courtroom could have anticipated.

Blessed Franz Jägerstätter is remembered as a witness to a truth no power can command: the conscience belongs to God alone.

I started a new Youtube Channel called Witnesses of the Faith!

Hey everyone,

I'm thrilled to announce a new YouTube channel which I've started where I make compelling videos of events in the lives of the saints.

The channel is called Witnesses of the Faith, and each week I will be uploading a video which features a particular saint or holy person in an event which demonstrates heroic virtue.

These are thrilling and gripping stories, and the very first one I uploaded was about Father Damien of Molokai. I'd really love it if you could take a few minutes to look at it and give me your feedback and post a comment on the video, but I think this can be a really good opportunity to demonstrate to people the virtue of these amazing heroes.

Enjoy!
